The real (dealer's) NADA prices for Jan - Apr 2003 say a high-mileage '92 Q45 is worth $4225 trade-in, $6100 retail, and $3675 loan ($1375 high-miles deduction taken for miles over 130K) . NADA says '91 Q45 is worth about $600 less.

Kbb online was about $2000 south of those prices, but oddly enough agreed almost exactly with NADA on my mother's '95 T-bird.

The average Q is not like a NICO members Q.

We can't buy Q's in our condition for those $$ sadly.

I get sick to my stomach when I see what our cars are supposed to be worth. I REALLY believe my car was worth the price I paid given it's mileage, condition, and extras, but I bet I'd loose 25% if I tried/had to sell it. And I've even spent money on making it better.

I stand behind the real rule of value/pricing. Any item up for sale is only worth how much you can get someone to pay you for it. Wow, that smells of ebay mentality doens't it??

No, your car is worth what <you> would be willing to pay for it if you saw it on a dealers lot and <knew> its excat condition as it stands know.

We can't go to a dealers lot and find early Q's in that kind of condition .

Before I smashed my car I had been offered triple book value previous to the accident for it.

And I refused, becasue that would not have been enough to buy a a true equivalent.

A Q of same year/milage? yes.But not car car w/ guides done new or newer, watwer pump, belts, hoses, plugs(ngk's), injectors, injector harness, MAF MAF connector, water pump, oxygen sensor, knock sensors, transmission, leather etc etc.

I knew any car for sale would likely need $8000 to get into teh equivalent shape of my car.truly good Q's are rarely for sale (outside of our Buy/Sell forum that is).

You got me to thinking in the last 22 months [25,000 miles], I've replaced what would have cost our customers [$7800] [probably $9,500 at a dealer] yet with do it yourself and some new, plus the many almost new parts I salvaged from a purchased wrecked Q.....my out of pocket was around $2800 and I just sold my old transmission for $500 so net $2,300 and 40 hours of my time.

And my sunroof still leaks a little and one rear speaker is out plus the awful paint and a rock chip in the front windshield.

At 248,000 miles who would buy my 90Q for even $5,000.New rear subframe, new used diff, new shocks, 30k transmission, 17k compressor, 13k condenser, new alternator condenser fan,and master cylinder, wheel bearings and a king pin........etc, etc.

$8,000 couldn't get a typical 90Q in the same mechanical shape as mine.
