You will run into many unforseen problemas and even with the expertise Z1 has this motor/car comdination is a ***** and a Half to work on, 53 hours of labor is not much, changing the head gaskets on a VG30DETT (motor in car) by alldata is like a 30+ hour job by itself and those times come directly from nissan and the actual people that designed the car.

wow i didnt know that the labor times were that much. even more reason to Frankenstein the car then. i mean most people are against doing rb series motors in a z and what not but it seems like the vg motor is such an *** to work on that even though the customization involved in swapping an rb or 2j into a z would be a biatch, the ease of working on it would make up for it.

Theres a shop in irving that will do a turbo swap, including both labor and price for the front clip for 5,000, pm me if you want more info
Is there any other place that will do the tt swap for me besides Z1? I would try to do the swap at home like you guys, but unfortunately, my friends are all into mustangs and cameros, so I won't be getting any help from them.
What is the difference between the n/a motor and twin turbo, obv besides the turbos and all the turbo needs. Couldn't i just have my engine rebuilt (it has 124k on it) and get bigger turbos and better intercooler and all the other parts for cheaper and have a better setup then buying a twin turbo motor. Someone please let me know. thanks.

I dont see what the problem is on going na to tt. Sure there are some problems like the different radiator and such. But u can use the stock harness just as long as u have a boost controller. I have done engine swaps before on an na auto z31 and making it a turbo z31 with manual...along with an hx35w holset turbo, injectors, intercooler, nistune, wideband and all that regular stuff..but now Im looking for an na z32 manual right now and would be interested in the swap later down the road. Im moving out of the z31 group to the z32 :P just want more comforts and a a/c and radio that works haha.

Can the n/a 5 sp transmission be used in the swap? I read on this forum that the 5 sp is basically the same except you have to grind the started down to fit. Or could you just use an n/a started and n/a manual trans?

The head is different - the n/a has higher compression.
