I have a 93 300zx with a JDM TT swap done and it still has the original NA instrument cluster installed. I like the look of the stock TT instrument cluster with the boost gauge built in better than an aftermarket gauge in a pod in a pillar or in a center din. I know they say that aftermarket gauges are more precise, but I don't care. I've searched on here and can't find this exact topic. If I get my hands on a stock TT cluster, what would be involved in getting it to work? Thanks

Not sure on whats involved but its a pointless endeavor if you're doing it for the stock boost gauge because the stock boost gauge in one word SUCKS.

I know it sucks but I like the symmetrical look. oil pressure gauge on one side looks stupid, imo.

k well in that case I think your best bet is to get balls deep in the FSM wiring section because I have never heard of anyone doing this, I know it must have been done before but this must be one of the least popular mods.

You would have to get a stock boost gauge sender (the one on the driver's side with the vacuum tube running to it, next to the clutch master cylinder. I doubt the stock wiring has accomodations for the extra pin needed for the boost gauge, so you would have to run your own wiring through the firewall, through the dash, and figure out which pin feeds the stock boost gauge. That's where getting balls deep in the FSM comes in. I'd say just get an aftermarket pressure gauge, kinda like everyone else, but it's your car.

Ok, the swap is almost complete. I haven't attempted any wiring for the oem boost gauge yet though. What is complete is a white gauge replacement and gauge rings. I installed it into the dash to test its functionality. Every gauge works except the speedometer. Its at zero and will not move. The odometer is also working. Yes, this was a "needles off" white gauge replacement and I was EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY careful with the needles. I am aware of the possibility that I f@*ked up the speedometer, but I am wondering if there are any other possibilities that would interfere with its functionality before I throw this cluster in the trash. I made the mistake of not testing it before I tampered with the gauges.
