I just picked up a 92' NA 300zx. I wanted a TT but this was more affordable and very clean. I would like to give my car a little power boost. I just sold my 240sx that pulled low 13's and I'm feeling a little sluggish. Do the ebay computer chips really work? They claim 20% more power. I find that very hard to believe. I was thinking of the TT swap, but I have searched for it and it seems like alot of work for 78 extra ponys. What do you guys suggest?

DO NOT buy the ebay chips, they are worthless. If you really want to be fast straight-line, the N/A isn't for you. You will be very hard-pressed to get a N/A in the low-14s, so you might as well go with the twin turbo if you want power.

Damn, I guess I already knew that was going to be the answer. I have been looking at the swap. Do stock TT's have FMIC? Is that why you need a new radiator? And last what is the stock boost on a TT?

TT's have side mount intercoolers. Stock boost is 9.5 psi.

if you are looking for an inexpensive chip -- go with AshSpec -- i have his on mine and it works jsut as well as the JWT i had on my previous car for half the cost

$525 vs ~ $250

Where can I find this chip? How much power does it add realistically?

i've seen 13 second NA's but it's not worth it by the time you make an NA run 13's you would have spent enough to buy a TT motor if you're interested check these guys out they give you everythign you need all you need is FMIC intercooler lines and a boost controller. it's what i'm doing accept i'm dumping 4 grand in performance.

yes it comes with an ECU and you can even purchase the transmission if you want along with it all in all you'll spend between 1,800 and 2,300 depending on where you live of course.

That sounds nice. That is what I want to do. I'd like to have the stock motor only with a front mounted intercooler. A lot of people say to buy the front clip. I'm sure it's a lot easier, but I think there are misc parts you need other than the basics. I have read a lot about the swap, but I still haven't found very detailed instructions. I've swapped motors before, but I need more info for this one.

z1motorsports.com does the swap for 7850.00. They are in georga, I think. It's expensive, but they throw in a couple extras. When they are done your sure to have a nice motor. It sounds like they do it the right way.
