Sup guys

I picked up my turbo kit(xs power) today which included every thing except all the piping. I paid 400 bucks for it, dude wanted to go SR and just pretty much wanted it gone. Its one of those ebay turbo kits so i dont expect much from it. Im having the manifold rewelded in certain spots and i may replace the wastegate. ill be looking for a t3 from a turbo Z31 shortly.

what i Expect to gain is knowledge becasue this will be my first turbo install by my self pretty much.

all i need now to actually get the kit on the car is:Oil feed and return linesSr smic piping ( cold and hot side)Mandrel pipe bendsBoost gaugeMisc nuts and boltswalbro255 pumpAfc370cc injector

As you know ill be leaving for the Air force soon, so i just wanted to do something to my car befor i leave to go work on some BIG turbos lol.

picsSkyline smic ( more than enough for the low boost )

yea im trying to figure that one out myself. at first thought, i thought it may be a vaccum, but at those temps. a traditional vac line would just melt and what would it even be used for.

so im guessing its for a EGT gauge application. ill just purchase one after doing some reading up on them.

The fitting is for nothing. EGT is a sensor, that is a air fitting. I emailed SSA and told them they are idiots and should all share the same syringe filled with my piss.

when u look directly at the wastegate, u can see that the valve looks like its not even centered and it appears to be a gap.

isnt it suppose to be air tight,

also from what i have read and seen those WG are not worth 20 bucks.

my buddies WG blew off the manifold at 8 psi

Is there a metal ring that sits in the flange? Some wastegates have floating seals which is basically a journal that sits inside the flange and it can be removed. it sits between teh valve and the manifold. Makes hte setup so you can run no gasket.

yup its a metel ring that u can pop in and out of the wastegate , when u insert it, the wastegate is raised off of the manifold wastegate flange a bit

Yep and when you tighten it down that ring will push against the valve and make a tight fit.

Fair enough, I would be willing to bet that if you put your mind to it you could get it to work decently. I intended to modify if necessary, but I have friends to help with these things, too.

Still off-topic (I can do this, I've been a member here long enough, damnit)

I play club lacrosse for UNC-Chapel Hill...we actually recently had an ACC tourney and MD was there...

Do you play varsity football for MD or club?

I played Varsity Football i had to leave the team due to grades. I was so pissed because i def would have been on the playing roster.

I played club lax for MD for one year. they won the championship last year. man i def love to practice/play lax all the time, football practice sucks at D1 level.
