i dont know about the turbo cams for all motor, and by don't know i mean i do infact know and i really wouldnt do it.
im gonna speak in generalities because i dont know the specifics about these crowers, but in general:turbo cams are decent for making low end, or rather pre-boost power (better than huge duration NA cams at least) but as the RPMs get higher the turbo cams get rid of that overlap so much as to prevent any sort of reversion associated with forced induction.
so i would agree with your suspicions and agree the turbo cams arent a great choice for you, especially because in an all motor app you need as much top end as you can get (at least with these four bangers) and that requires a huge duration and huge overlap.
you really need to decide where you want to make power, adn i would guess due to your enormous shot (more than the crank output of the motor) that you want a gang of top end. SO instead of the crowers maybe a jim wolf tech or PDM cam.
Cam gears are always good, they allow you to put that power band anywhere you can feasibly put it. Even with 248/248 cams you can make some decent top end with the JWT cam gears.
however ive heard they are updating these adn they dont presently exist. Ive contemplated having an extra stock set of gears redrilled at my machine shop, but i question whether the strength of the gears would be comprimised, im interested in what the gears are made of. otherwise got to the jim wolf site and download its directions, and then bring that to a machine shop.
i strongly agree witht he arp fasteners on the bottom end, and i too would consider a high compression approach. Now i know next to nothing about nitrous, but ive read nitrous likes high comp, now that makes no sense to me, but thats up to your research
ITBs are pretty sick, but chances are you'll have to use your MAF anyways so you need a plenum made for your ITBs. At the point adn dollar amount you might just want a fabs intake mani over ITBs. However, should you choose to go that route in the future all it requires is a cut of the runners, so you're already ready for it. so long story short, you need the custom plenum, unless you can convert to a map sensor
