NA KA tune up! help!

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

hi guy!

is anyone have any good idea for tuning the KA24DE (NA)???other then, intake exhaust?? what else can i do???

by the way, i heard that if i could install a 10.5: 1 piston, it could add up 15hp, is it true?

I found some of it from ebay, but i am sure if those a right size, also, do i need do anything to the stock ECU in order to use that pistons?

try bumping your timing up 2 or 3 degrees, but when you do this make sure to run a high grade of octane(93). pulleys, electric fan, cam, head work, I could go on and on and on so please use the search button, but before you try any major engine work(pistons, cam, head) please ask a credable mechanic.

High compression, ITB's, cams and a decent exhaust and engine management are your friend. Setup right you should be good for 200hp+ at the wheels.

To get those kind of numbers isn't hard.

Here is a list that you can use.

MSD6A ignition & coil - no real power added, but cleans up the power band makes it more useable.

An underdrive pulley - UR pulley gave me 5 HP and 10lbs of torque can

An intake system, injen or hotshot. Go injen- sometimes hotshot has clearance issues.

Hotshot headers or better. Mated with a properly tuned exhaust you can see up to 20 HP.

FPR - fuel pressure regulator.

Test pipe - 2/14 -2 1/2 in (with tuned fuel) can see up 15HP to the wheels.

Advanced timing - play around by advancing you timing (on the dyno of course) with A/F meter ( I saw40 hp to wheels@full timing advance).

you can see some where between

165 plus to wheels before anything else.

maybe I can show you some old dyno sheets if I can find them.This is considering engine is in good condition and proper tuning has been done. Also remember the fuel injectors may start to give at this point.
