I'm suprised you couldn't find anything, cause I see at least one post like this a week, and I'm never even on this site. But mostly from what I've seen, doing most of the basics can probly get you around the 150-160 whp area. Some people think passing 200whp without a huge wallet, turbo or nitrous isn't gonna happen, but I've seen too much to agree with that. But unless you're planning on doing alot to the car, you probly won't make it past about 175whp, but it's hard to say, cause I don't know what you are capable of in terms of skill or money. It might not be the fastest way to go, so I wouldn't recomend it if you're into drag racing, but it can still be pretty fun to drive while NA.

i would have to agree with s13coupe, i for one am going to go NA with my KA i have a 91 hatch and i have done some research and found acouple of people that make cams for the KA, PDM customs is one and Jim Wolf tech. has cams and if you truly want a little more power you could get the head portred and polished but your still not really gonna be seeing anything over the 175-180 HP range but you could hit 190 on the off chance you get into tuning and get it tuned right but still thats a stech for a KA NA.

out of something as mild as intake and exhaust, even with sohc pistons, i doubt youd be seeing much of a gain at all. go look at ajax's thread about his build and after all that money and time spent, he still may not see 200whp. it will at least give you some ideas as to what you have to do to extract more n/a power from your ka.

whats the highest octane gas you can buy in ontario? if you up the compression ratio past a certain point, youll have to run higher than reg unleaded, which is a good idea anyways.

good luck to you.

Ajax's post is a great source but when he gets his numbers there are still things he can do to pep up his car more. But I bet 180 whp on him 190whp if he gets that aluminum driveshaft.... hell i felt more of a diffrence with the driveshaft then my finandza fly wheel....somthing to consider is to drop as much drag through your drive train first then start doing engine work. that way if you change your mind and go turbo you can. But thats my two cents. others have different opinions.... Good luck!

exaust. short ram intake, ud pullies, pullies for the ps, if you decide to remove the ac then more power to you, sohc pistons, port and polish, flywheel and drive shaft dont increase hp but reduces rotational mass, cams, header, down pipe, no cat, ecu upgrade, fuel system upgrade, custom throttle body, custom intake mani, or ITB's, proper dyno tuning, all plugs on the harness replaced if needed.not sure what its called but..there is an electrical system that eleviates the distributor and uses some form of coil packs..,.not sure what its called or how it functions im sure that and a few other things would kick the hp up almost to the 200's???

Yeah, forgot to say that those SOHC pistons could cause you some problems if you can't get high octane gas, and get the car tuned properly. I would not recomend to run those without proper tuning. But if you think you might want to go a different route in the future, then just try to do things that you can still use down the line so you don't waste any money. But if you're not really into just having high hp, a NA KA might be enough to satisfy. It's enough for me to have fun with, and I haven't really done much for power.

Yeah it wont be any HP monster but it will be fun to drive. Nothing beter than having a smooth power.
