I have posted this on my other thread but i want this out for everyone, I just dont want to hear one side of the story. I really want to go NA so im thinking of having an NA setup on my ka24de. Id like to hear some opinion on weather this is a good/bad decision instead of going sr20. In my area (CA) the cops are *****es and if they see an engine that looks a bit funny, they call up the CARB boys, and smogging my car is a big hassle too. My friends say that building up my ka for NA is a stupid idea. But they all think im gonna drag, im planning to road race actually. So can i get some feedback from you guys on this topic I would really appreciate ty very much !!! :)

I'd say go for it. That's what I was originally going to do before my s14 got totalled. Good luck.

I'm no expert but from what I've been told the KA24DE does not hold up when making lots of HP N/A. With this beeing said I really don't think it would be a good Idea for road racing. Also turbo cars on a roadcourse own all simply because they tend to have such a long powerband that it really isn't necesary to keep rpm's really high. This allows for less wear on the motor and better controll in cornering One option you didn't mension is turboing the KA. Look into it. That is what I plan on doing when I'm ready to move up to a more competative class of SCCA.

In CA.. it won't be that hard to smog it... where there's a will.. theres a way... I have met 3 people with SR20's in their car... I think the cops look for honda boys anyway and if you drop a SR20 (Nissan) engine... they won't really know what to think... it looks like a stock engine because it is a stock engine (in a way). I'm planing on going that rout just because it is going to end up cheaper and it will last way longer... also the potential of my getting high HP out of a SR is better than a KA.

There is turbo lag but your not suppose to be slapping a big T67 on your car if your gonna be racing on the track. I've driven in my friends integra who slapped on a huge turbo and his boost wasn't hitting till around 5 g's. It ran like crap but it could of also been him rigging the job than taking his time on it.

I think only problem on the KA24DE-T is trying to keep the car grip the ground.

Well im talking about when I smog my car every two years. I dont want to end up paying a fine bc of my engine. I would like to swap but which would be easier to swap?? the CA18 or the Sr20de??
