Just thought id share, picked up a na with tt swap, na rear end. At first it was cool, once i had to go above 60 it sucked. I think i was at 3k at 60mph. Good for town, can stay in 4th cruising at 30, but any thing over 55 is just horrible. So if anyone was thinking of swapping in na gears for better launch or what ever, dont imo. If you do trade me the tt rear and ill give you the na rear lol!

Yeah that bad, if i lived in nyc or some where the speed limit was wide spread and low it might be practical but not where i live as most limits are 55mph

Should have been 3k at 70 IIRC. Been a while since I drove the N/A though, seeing as it has a new owner :'(

After my NA 5 speed swap I definitely noticed the extra RPM at freeway speeds, about 3K at 62 or 63, but assumed that would mean it would keep a TT in boost more often?
I was thinking that my NA rear would be worth keeping if I parted it just for this reason, sucks to hear a negative comment.

I had no idea the NA cruised at that high of a RPM.

You dont have to tell me brother i know all about the diff swap. I can get a whole tt rear sub set up for pretty cheap.

Yes it's why the n/a swapped or not is limited to about 150mph+- a few. Personally i like the gearing and plan to keep the n/a rear when I do my swap. Besides you think this is bad lol try driving my mr-s at hwy speeds.

It's actually worse with a NA/auto swapped to 5-speed as the NA auto rear end gear ratio and 5-speed final drive equals the extra RPM's- seems great for a drag setup but not-so-much for anything else except watching your tach live in a range you're not used to or comfortable with!

I bet! Whats it at 3500 at 60phm? Also do na trans have diff gearing? If so that would also explain Why your mph is different z-owned. I have a seapped tt motor and tt trans. Would be a good track set up but i dont like cruising at 3k plus, just more gas and wear on my engine.

Yeah, my N/A sits at about 3k-3200 at 65-70 mph. I plan on keeping it as well when i finally get around to starting my swap i've been putting off for a year. Gotta love the extra kick from the gearing! Even basically bone stock I love keeping pretty close with 250+- HP stock cars. Makes the owners a little frustrated :gapteeth:

Try jumping from a 12v cummins to any gas pot. the first few minutes will scare the s*** out of you when you see the tach a 3k and up lol. My usual highway rpm is 1800rpm, and my NA is around 2600 or 2800 IIRC 60mph

Try hopping on your GSX-R after driving a truck with a 4500 redline, and then having your highway cruise at 7500. Or taking off, seeing the tach zip up to 15.5k. :gapteeth:
