N15 Dash Bulb Colour?

Hi folks, this is a strange one I think...

I recently had a dash bulb go out, so I thought i would replace them all with crisp white LEDs. The stock halogens give a dimish, warm white light. through the display.
when I put in the LEDs, they are showing as a blue colour?! I've taken the clocks back out for a look and it looks like there is a blue tape or film on the back of the clock units. This sort of explains the blue appearance of my white LEDs right?

BUT why do the stock halogens appear warm white? But the cool white LEDs are appearing blue? This kind of blue >> :frown:

It depends on a number of factors. Mostly there's a larger variance in color temp in led's than there is in incandescent or halogen bulbs. Plus not all led's are created equal.
