water pump looks like n1. you can tell by counting the # of fins on the rotating part. less fins than stock = n1

oil pump is hard to say. i have never "seen" an n1 oil pump, but from what i have heard it is just an oem pump with a stiffer spring. internal gearing is still the same. most ppl prefer going w/ nismo, jun, tomei, grex, etc. but those are $$$. you do get what you pay for though, which is why n1 is only a tiny bit more than oem price.

hope that helps.

I can't help you with identifying the oil pump either, but the water pump in the link is an N1 pump. The starting bid price is really good. The Buy it Now price is only $9 more than if you buy it from Phase2, a sponsor for this site. http://www.store.yahoo.com/pha....html

This guy sells good nissan parts. I bought a n1 water pump form him. It came brand new in the correct box. The n1 oil pump is just a upgraded spring from the stock one but he sells it for a good price. If you are planning an spinning anything over 8k redline I would buy a jun or hks oil pump. I bought a jun because they are a hare cheaper than hks.

Well, I was told this by my parts guy in Japan.

Some of the N1 water pumps actually still had 8 fins. However, the fins were longer than stock. I argued with him over this until he sent me a photo of one of the N1 pumps that the guy had. Sure enough, there were 8 fins, but they were CLEARLY longer than stock fins.

I'll take a picture of the N1 water pump I took out of my RB26, and show you what it compares to the "stock" one I pump back in to replace it. (Don't ask me about putting a stock unit back in, it is a long story).

But I'll add this note. Yes, that is an N1 water pump. So don't worry about it lol, I was just stating something I came across in the past.

As far as the oil pump goes, it IS an N1 oil pump.

It is marked by the emblem on the bottom right side of the oil pump on the outside face. And, the yellow mark also indicates N1 style, where-as a green mark is usually marking a "stock" or "OEM" style part from Nissan.

Question for you 25/26 owners. Is the bolt that holds the regulator assembly in place on the oil pump accessible when the engine is assembled/installed? I'm asking because I was wondering if ,with the aid of an oil pressure gauge and a few shims or selection of springs, could someone tune the pump output pressure? Poor mans N1 possibly?

The lower bolt for the oil pump is accessible, but you have to take off the whole oil pan to do so.

Personally, I just went ahead and bought the N1 pump. This way, all that guess work is out of the question.
