engrish mruch?sounds like some one got on the boards slightly anebrated.and yah the n1 pumps will work on the rb20, altho in a street driven rb20 you should just use a stock gtr pump for the water pump.

I haven't been able to find a true N1 water pump for under $259 from PH2. There are some on ebay that are "N1" water pumps but are obviously different in every way if you compare the pictures.

Maybe someone can direct me to an N1 oil pump because I've only seen Greddy, HKS, and Tomei from RB Motoring that cost an arm and a leg and I like to jog. (~$1100-1600) Those might be overpriced since they also have the N1 water pump listed at $440 compared to the above price.

Is the OEM water and oil pump that critical to replace with aftermarket brands and higher performance?

N1 water pumps are desinged for high RPM operation. They are really a waste for a street driven RB that doesn't see extened high RPM operation. The ONLY difference between a standerd oil pump and an N1 is the oil pressure spring that controls the oil pressure. A stock pump can be made into an N1 by putting the stronger spring in.

so yes. N1 pumps are overpriced and not really needed.

You only need one of those Jun, tomei or greddy pumps if your revving over 8000rpmUnder that you should be fineThe N1 pump is a stock pump with the upgraded spring, but I think it is usefull for the street if your beating on it alotBut if your not then just get the stocker

hey its not the spring in the n1 pump its the gears and it don't run more pressure they just flow more oil so i wouldn't run and standed oil pump on any built motor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i have a 340rwkw R33 with no crank collar! and no problems

1. He was thinking about the stock GTR pump. It just has a harder spring than the RB20/25 oil pump2. People have said some not so nice things about N1 pumps. I run a stock RB26 oil pump on my RB25 with a standard crank collar to 8k rpm and well over 500rwhp with no problems so far (knock on wood)3. This thread is over 3 years old. Way to fail on your first post

^ what he said.n1 does not flow anymore than a stock pump, it just mantains a higher pressure than the standard pump.
