hey all i just bought a rb25 long block to be built. from what ive read on here it looks like i can put a 26 crank into a 25.

My question is whats the differance between the stock 26 crank and the N1 crank. Also what is the stroke on the 26 crank.

i know that putting a 26 crank in a 25 will make it a 26 and i know that the nismo gt500 crank is a 77.7 so with that and by going 1mm bigger on the piston u will be at a displacment of 2771 or better known as a rb28

Hes saying that putting by putting the 26 crank in it will make it a 2.6l

because the only diffrence is that the 26 has a longer stroke but they share the same bore sizes

And he's saying because putting a 26 crank in a 25 puts the pistons above deck height. You can't just swap the crank you need the pistons with proper compression height as well. Remember the RB25 is at 9/1 and the RB26 is at 8.5/1.

using an rb26 crank in a rb25 block is fine and dandy but unless you want to slam the pistons into the head the moment you go to crank it make sure that you use rb26 specific pistons as well...rods are interchangeable but 26 stuff is always stronger.

here is a translation exserpt from the nismo catalog

Vis-a-vis the NISSAN genuine standard crank, it is the long-stroke crankshaft which to the stroke quantity 4mm rise (77.7mm) it could point. The aerodynamic volume displacement of 2,771cc possible note 1) is done by using the NISSAN genuine (1mm oversize) combining with the piston and the NISMO GT connecting rod etc. By the fact that closed die forging + fillet roll processing is adopted for production method, strength is raised. Dynamic balance processing being completed of crank as a single unit. Note 1) When you use on the general public road, remodelling application is necessary.

There is no N1 crankshaft.

Even the nur spec engines have a 05U crank.

There is the nismo 2.8 though.

There is no N1 crank shaft. Call it what you want but thats a 05U part number.?

Be my guest and email them for the part number if you do not believe me, just don't get mad, I am just here to stop the spread of false information.
