Hello

I am currently doing a swap for a friend

doing Rb20 -> S14

i am not familiar with the car or engine and have a few questions.......just kinda want to make sure i am headed into the right direction

1. The car has ABS, and there are 3 plugs attached to the abs bracket that now have nothing going to them, does this mean i have lost abs doing this swap?

2. I had to change out the sensors from the KA transmission to the RB transmission to make it plug up...is this normal?

3. The charging harness that came with the RB was cut to hell, and the nut on the back of the alternator is stuck on, how do i make the S14 charge harness work on the RB, and wil the KA alternator work for this if it fits?

i wired the car using wolfgangs swap diagram, and everything seemed to be pretty straight forward. i havent started it yet. but i am going to try today

this is my first Nissan swap, i normally work on Honda's and Acura's so any help you can give will be greatly appreciated

thanks in advance

You can use the Ka lower harness on the RB motor. It makes the swap even easier. The lower harness is for the Starter/altnator and oil Pressure. Did you get the 2 green relays that are near the ECU? the car will not start without those. Not sure about the ABS problem I have only done a S13.

yeah i have been doing some looking this morning, and figured out that i just needed to extend the wires on the lower harness to reach the alternator, and i took the oil press sending unit from the KA and put it un the RB block to make it plug up cause the one on the rb did not match the stock S14 plug

yep, i sure did, when i was doing the harness work i noticed that, the RB harness didn't come with any relays, so i de-pinned one of the plugs and took it to my nissan dealer and they were able to get me the right relays...they actually had them in stock and said they are a very common part here in the states-

I think you should change the title of this thread. noobs ask:SR or RB?Can I make 400HP and still get 30MPG?

You my friend are the anti-noob.

Welcome to NICO, and I hope you get your swap all worked out.
