I've searched this forum up and down and everyone says 2.25" will "do fine" or 2.5" "will do fine." Wtf does do fine mean? I want overall power, and I'm sure the exhaust systems with a little bigger piping arent that much more expensive... so does "do fine" mean it doesn't matter at all what size as long as its not overkill? Theres gotta be differences.

2nd question and its a big one so bear with me. I have a 93 240 NA and all im going to stay with headers, intake, exhaust, suspension and maybe rims... now, is forking out the extra money for bolt ons recommended over custom piping? Those who have had custom piping, is mandrel bent necessary? I want an exhaust that sounds good but not loud by any means, but most importantly i want overall power gains (despite low end loss blah blah). PLEASE give detailed responses or if you think this info can be found then maybe be a bro and link me somewhere.. Thanks

yea 2 and a quarta or 2 and a fity will do fine :) for an na car, thats all u need, bigger isnt better. it wont be very loud unless u take out the cat or have a rice muffler, the straightest 2.5in exhaust is all u need

You still did not distinguish whether there are any differences, noticeable or not, between the sizes in piping... What exhaust do you recommend thats very straight? you also didn't touch on my custom exhaust questions... I'm losing faith in humanity....

its very simple. 2" has better low end torque, 2.5" has a little better horsepower.

well sorry mr queer. i thought i discussed this, bigger piping does not mean more power, so go get 2.5 inch piping, u said u might have it made, so it doesnt matter what company is straightest, and i dont know that answer. if i didnt answer anything else, i either dont know or its something u can find out for yourself, search!

personally, if you go N/A, its gonna be all peak horsepower, your gonna loose alot of tq, its gonna suck to drive around all the time, and its gonna be astronomically expensive.

then were all gonna laugh at you.

I"m unfamiliar to turbos in general (or cars for that matter) and spending money on a new engine is a huge change, whereas I want it to drive better right now.

thats pretty much it. there is no way in hell your going to have a need for 3" piping with na. it will just slow the car down under normal operating conditions.

go with a 2.5 inch system, with a ricer exhaust, and be happy your a ricer. dont forget the aluminum wing.

I've had a 3" custom-bent exhaust with a PDM stainless 3" muffler for about 6 months now. Before I swapped in my CA, I ran the KA with it for several months. I noticed very, very little loss in low end power, definitely not "50 ft/lbs". My car performed exactly the same as my friend's 240 with 2.25" piping.
