alright so here's the deal, s13 ka24de with a chuki engine harness spliced CORRECTLY (sourced from nico) to a piggy body harness so consult wont work however the ecu throws no codes at all just code 55 Smile ...will start and idle at 1k for 1/4 second then rpm drops to 450-300 and decreases steadily from there until it dies(around 2 sec.)...backfires like crazy under WOT...replaced the ecu, MAF, coolant temp, engine harness, o2 sensor, iacv, injectors and rail, fpr with known working parts, and NO vacuum leaks....18 on the vacuum test
here's the kicker...
upon tinkering....i discovered that if you cut the black wire leading to the MAF that all of the idle symptoms and hesitation disappear....HOWEVER now i haz jdm tight yo' 5 mpg (facepalm)and also runs fine with no problems when MAF is unplugged
TO REITERATE all of the replaced parts came off my known running car and were tested to be sure they all worked
*edit* car has the 232/248 cam swap (s14 exhaust cam on intake rotated correctly and stock exhaust cam) and a complete emissions removal (shady connections ftw!)
