I finally got some time to work on my car today and you all were right. It was an aftermarket alarm system. I almost have it removed and I am thinking that that is my my car wont start. My buddies Rodeo had on on it and he tripped it by accident so we had to remove it scompletely before it would start again. My wipers work fine and the amplifier hasn't been messed with. Thank you for all of your help and if you have any extra front end parts laying around I might be interested.Moto Man wrote:The wires might have been for an alarm system. The siren for my alarm is mounted in that area on my car.
Green box: that's the wiper amplifier. If your wipers won't turn off, that's the bit you need to replace.
No, don't apollogize. I greatly appreciate any help. I re-ran the wires for the alarm and got a switch so I can override the system. I got the car to start finally. Now My fuel pump went bad. Guess thats what happens when a car sits for 5 years.ADF932 wrote:I would say those wires were from an alarm. Almost all the alarms use red and black wires for the siren. Hope this solves your mystery wire problem.
Edit : My bad, I posted before reading the entire thread, seems like a few people answered your question. I just saw the picture and Immediately I knew what those wires were for. Hope i was a help
