Maybe I'm just not very intelligent, but I can not find out what sensor this is. I just pulled my plenum (first time) and I'm a newb, but a mechanically inclined newb... Didn't want to do it, but the guy that was suppose to do it flaked on me. Amyway I broke this in the process

I'm trying to put it back together today or tomorrow. Doing the coolant bypass, New vacuum & fuel lines.

That's the FICD solenoid. Its' job is to raise the RPM a little when you add load on engine. For example when the A/C unit turns on.

Thanks for the info... the unit is $300 & it must be ordered. Is there anyway to drive the vehicle without it and replacing it in a few weeks? In changing all the fuel injectors, fuel lines, vacuum lines, coolant bypass, valve cover gasket, basically the works when you pull the plenum. I say all that to say, $300 is not doable within the next 36 hours, and the car had to be running in 36 hours. Lol. Maybe I bit of more than i could chew. Everything else has gone smooth, so far. Just gotta re assemble. But can't do it with out the FICD, or can I?

Pretty sure you can drive for a bit without FICD based on what I know about it. Friend had one with a busted connector, and pretty sure it wasn't connected for a while. http://z32.wikispaces.com/Idle+Control . Also, I wouldn't buy a new one tbh. Find someone doing a partout or head to your local parts yard. If you can't find one, order used from Z1 for $78: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_in ... ts_id=7416 . I'd give this group a go, its very active, and I bet you'll find one: https://www.facebook.com/groups/227766473927972/ . Also consider contacting Dane @ HoustonZAuto, he sits on a ton of used parts too.

Thank you.... I'll figure out the route to go and order tonight or tomorrow. 78, I can do now. Moving in less than 2 weeks, and we know that cost as much as taking care of our fair lady.

Yes you can drive without it. My car, the IACV, AAC, and FICD solenoids are all busted so i just unplugged them and have been driving without them for 6 months atleast. I just raised the idle from 850 to 1000 RPM so when i turn the A/C on, the engine wont stall.
If i cant afford a part, I'll find a way around it xD
