need maf help ..did search a ton

I'm in the closing stages of a swap ,s14 zeniki red wc direct from japan...bb turbo
into a 1969 datsun 2000. so im still kinda new here

Engine started first try after 2 years of ground up resto and install . runs smooth but hits a 3500 rev limiter.
the engine came from tiger imports , the ecu plug already had the evap depinned in japan
when i got it, so somebody may have already been playing with this engine and ecu.

the maf plug was cut from the harness and the maf it came with didn't look like the ones i found on here for a stock s14

searched the pt # of this mystery Maf and it came back as
(96-97 Nissan Pathfinder Mass Air Flow Meter 22680-2J200)
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/96-97-Nissan-Pat ... !~~_12.JPG

i didn't trust using it, as i can't find anybody running this type of maf on here . so i had a stock s14 maf with matching # to my ecu sent from japan (the metal body one).

this Maf is what the car started up and ran with the first time the other day

any ideas on how to fix ?
should i try the pathfinder maf ?

also the maf wiring has shielding wire that is shared from the ecu to other components in the harness... it was cut short, and maf wires were extended, do i just use stripped copper wire and continue as the shielding wire the rest of the way to the maf ?
does it wrap just the sensor wire?

sorry for the long post
kinda green to turbos, so any help would be appreciated.

The motor starts because it can pull air through the maf. it hits the "rev limit" at 3,500 because the ecu cannot read the maf. i would suggest try to find what MAF that ecu is tuned for, hopefully it is either the Z32 or S14. But who knows, the ecu could be tuned for the Pathfinders MAF and that maf is just faulty.

I just re read OP and the ECU is definitely not tuned for the S14 MAF, so try the pathfinder maf. If that motor is truely from japan then there is no telling what they are able to tune with our beloved SR20det's. Hopefully the Pathfinder's fixes your issue.
