For the past day, I've been noticing steam coming from under the hood of my 91 240SX fastback. (m/t)

Under further examination, I see coolant splashed against the battery, the inside of the lower fan shroud, on top of the A/C sightglass, and there is a thin pool of coolant between the top of the radiator and the foam liner on the bumper side. The pool is not boiling hot, so I'm guessing it is just collecting there rather than leaking from there.

I can run the car with no steam, or leaks untill I shut it off, then I hear an odd "squish, squish, slurp" sound come from near the radiator, followed by a small cloud of steam from between the upper radiator hose and battery.

I've checked all the hoses and I've found no leaks, The lower radiator hose and Water pump were replaced about 3 or 4 months ago, and show no signs of failure.

Any ideas about what is causing this?

your coolant reservoir and hoses.

Coolant is definitely leaking somewhere, might not be something thats visible but definitely try to find out where its coming from.

Do a pressure test on your radiator. It could be a crack in the radiator itself from the sound of the build up between the foam and the radiator. If it's close to your battery, check the coolant lines to the reservoir and the reservoir itself like [s3] suggested. If you've got water on the front of your block from water pump down, you've got a problem with your water pump. It's located midway down the front of your block. If the coolant is coming from between your rad and block at the top, it's probably a upper radiator hose. If it's splashing about like that, check around the fan itself as that's probably what's causing the splash of the coolant around but the coolant could be dripping from the bottom of the water pump or on the side of the radiator.
