Mysterious power seat problem

I have a 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe. The driver's side power seat is giving me trouble. No problem with the passenger side seat.

Whenever the power seat gets used a lot :
- there are other passengers and I have to move the seat back and forth to get them in and out of the car
- when me and my wife drive the car often and we have to use the power seat buttons to adjust height and depth of the seat

the power seat buttons stop working after a few days. Whats worse, I was driving on the freeway and the seat decided to move back all the way and tilt back all the way!! Its like some ghost was moving the seat around. Since the buttons have stopped working and I had to drive without a seat to lean back on. If it wasn't so annoying it and happening so often, it would actually be funny to look at.

If I let the power seat be for week or ten days i.e I don't touch the buttons then it becomes ok and the buttons start working again.

This is the cycle that has repeated itself 4-5 times in the last 6 months : Power seat gets moved around with the buttons a lot - buttons stop working - seat goes crazy with a mind of its own - I let it be for 10-15 days - buttons and seat start working again.

Anyone know whats going on? How do I fix it? I must admit that I m not very handy with the car and my knowledge about seats/motors/switches/fuses is very limited. I searched the forums and I have seen other power seat threads but none have a problem similar to mine.

Sounds like it's the switch. I had a similar issue with the switch in my Maxima and when it would stick I'd smack it.
