I have to agree looks like some kinda fuse box or go through for an audio system.

Aftermarket alarm vibration sensor, it can be thrown in the trash.

So I can just cut the wires off and throw it away? Would this thing going bad have anything to do with my car not starting? My car lights blink like an alarm is going off and when I turn the key, nothing happens

It could be tapped into the ignition circuits. Check to see what it was tapped into. There's some 12v power leads in that area that can cause a no-start if they're cut up. The big culprit that I see get cut for security systems is the B/W starting wire.

I was ganna say an aftermarket alarm. This is why these kill every car the connect to sooner or later. I hate them. Cars have locks for a reason.

Trace the wires back to the factory wiring and make sure the factory wires are properly connected and wrapped.

I've removed several of those things, the most memorable one was tapped into the airbag harness.(really they cut the yellow wire loom off and used one of those crimp on splices :ohno: )

Yeeeaaahh..... I had a bad experience with one of those too. The only time I have ever seen it like this and when it was removed, caused deployment. Somehow, they were tripped. My coworker was working on it in the next stall and I had just poked my head in the window..........BOOM!!! Gave me a bad black eye and I couldn't sleep right for a month cause my neck hurt so bad. Luckily the ringing in the ears went away the next morning.

I think that I would have taken the time to figure out who specifically it was that installed that alarm, so I could find them and punch them in the d!ck.

:yesnod

I know I'd be super pissed at whomever tapped the SRS. Not only is it STUPID, I'm fairly certain it's illegal
