mycan someone help on 19 nissan 240sx

my 91 240sx overheated pretty bad on the freeway. it was making a clicking sound when i would accelerate. after it cooled down i cant hear the clicking sound any more. it all so started to smoke,but the headgasket is still good. does any one have any ideals of some things i would need to check to make sure the engine is still good.

its your radiator homie... that clicking noise is coming from the lack of coolant you have. check where its leaking at. but whatever you do, dont buy that radiator sealant crap at autozone or pepboys, that stuff really ends up ruining everything else in your cooling system and might even leak into your engine and really mess things up.if anything, check your hoses to see if thats where its leaking at or if theres a crack in your radiator. check/ replace also your thermostat and waterpump while your at it.
