The starting system is really simple. Make sure your battery is charged and just trace all the wires from the starter.

Check the ECU for codes.

I doubt the ignition coil will fix it. Did you test it?

I have replaced the ignition coil and fuel injectors but still wont start. Does anyone have a good diagram of the vaccum lines i think when replaced the head gasket for my intial problem I might have mixed up the ones on the back of the head.

Quit replacing parts before testing them.

Test the CAS, seems like it primes before it starts but doesn't sense a pulse from the CAS after it starts and cuts fuel and spark.

I replaced the fuel injectors because i had a leak before all of this started but i will look into the cas before anything else.

My 91 hatch did this after I had sit for a year and replaced the engine. My problem was the clutch switch and my dizzy was 180 out. So check the dizzy and see if your Plastic rod in the clutch switch is free and not getting stuck.

I have checked the dizzy and it turning over and starts for about 5 seconds or so then shuts off. Its getting fuel and has a nice strong spark. I had the front apart and set the timing so its not the timing issue either. So im really stumped but cant come up with what is wrong.

It carries on then shuts off. I just checked to see if maybe it was 180 out and if i had the plug wires mixed up it back fired then shut off so i switched it back and got an 11 code so im checking the distributor now.

Are you sure your cams are set right? It's easy to be off a tooth. when it starts if you apply throttle will it stay running?

Yea I set everything up perfect for the timing. I pulled the distributor off and check the volts at the connections and wasnt getting anything so i pulled the cover off for the cas and fount that its very corroded and falling apart so i think that might be my problem.

I'm pretty sure it's part of the whole distributor.

KA distributor's are cheap, I picked up mine for S20 from someone local.
