let me start by saying that had it not been for my local performance shop things probably would have gotten ugly... Now Ive never been to zerolift and I dont know what goes on there but I want to say they are the shadiest low down shop I've ever had dealings with in my whole life, and if this thread keeps one person from not buying a motor from them then I will have done some good in this world. Ok so heres my epic...

Day 1: go by Ballastic Speedwerks here in Bowling Green, KY and inquire about purchasing rb25 clip... Alan, one of the owners calls Mike at zeroloft and asks about adding another clip to the sr clip that was already supposed to be coming(late since march may I add) and he says sure bbut I need the cash right away as it will be delivered in 3 days. So I arrange to sell my s14 drive damn near to ohio to drop it off and dirve straight back with cash for my cip.

Day 3: Motor is supposed to arrive however, nothing comes and Ballastic leaves for a car show

Day 5: Call ballastic alan calls zerolift and gets 2 stories... first story there was a problem at the dock and the shipment was delayed.. 2nd story shipment is at dock in cinci but there tracking nuber is messed up and wont release it...... hmmm sounds odd but ok they promise clip on friday

Day 10: call ballastic still no word from zerolift and thus bgins zerolifts non answering of the phone (side note: they may say whatever they want about there phone systems... but I thinks its kinda funny when I try and call and theres no answer and then a friend with a different area code phone calls and you pick up 1st ring... you make your own judgement)

Day 17: at this point its been 2.5 weeks and no word, no motor and I have no wheels. I have missed a ton of work and I'm really gettin stressed... I finally start to get involved. After making a call to zero lift myself I am told the shipment is still at the dock and should be released by monday and all should be well.

Day 20: Ok its monday now and no word from zerolift...

Day 21: I tried to call all day with no success... I have resorted to having to make up AIM screen names to message these guys online so they will talk to me.... I am told Mike is personally delivering the clips in a few days not to worry everything is ok...

Day 30: OK I am officially wiggin outerolift is hardcore watching caller ID at this point not answering for me or ballastic speedwerks... yet some how they manage to answer when my girlfriend makes a test call from her 615 area code cell.... Luckily someone from the ohio area was in the shop that day so we made a call to zeroloft and what do you know they answered!!! so the story now shifts from yea we got it and its coming to we forgot to pick it up at the dock and it got shipped back to new york... bullsh*t I want my money back... Mike agrees to give my money back strangely easier than I expected... a little too easy... I want to drive up there and pick it up personally but after calming down I agree to have them overnight the check....

Day 31: Made preperations all morning to drive to jarco in georgia to pick up an actuall r33 front clip in stock... check arrives at ballastic and alan goes to cash it to give my money back.... WRONG!!! the check bounced sooooo cool and calmly I borrow another 3500 dollars drive to georgia and get my clip...

Day 32: I drive by the shop and see about my money... check still wont clear, but being the kind of shop they are they eat the cost and refund my money to me anyways.... GOOD GUYS....

I didnt really know where to put this but I really feel something had to be said.

Brandon

these guys at Zerolift are balling too, you should see the shop cars . porsches, benz skyline, and various other cars. they have a nice setup and are decent to deal with when local. why not just drive up here and talk to them its about 3hour drive rent a 60$ trailor and pick it up your self.

Brandon!!! Man I didn't even know you were on here. Where the hell have you been, I haven't seen you out in any type of vehicle for like a month.

By the way, I can call my buddy that works for zerolift and try to get a dam move-on on your RB if you would think it might do some good. I doubt it would though.....

Ok this is interesting, its about time people hear our side of the whole ordeal. Shops we sell to need to stop passing the buck on us, I cannot tell you how Frustrating it is when companies, even local shops that will go unnamed in this post, that take money from customers, then 2-3 weeks later call us up in a panic looking for an engine that there customer was led to believe we had already had on the way or that we had sitting here, Which intern makes us look like the "bad guys" of the whole situation.

As for the instance with Ballistic Speedwerks....Ballistictried to pay for the clips with there credit card on 4 separate occasions, the card being denied time after time, no biggie...it happens sometimes.. so we asked for alternate forms of payment, since the CC was an issue we required a CERTIFIED CHECK, Ballistic then sent a regular company check VIA US MAIL that took almost a week to get here and then having to wait for there check to clear, that takes upto 5-7 days there. I'm pretty sure this wasn’t explained to you so once again, our side of the story. I didn't want to get into details but some things needed to be left answered so we are not put in that situation as being the "Bad Guys"

Yes the shipment was delayed, this isn’t your local Wal-Mart folks, people take allot of this for granted, yes we can get performance parts fast, so can allot of shops here locally and nationwide, I think people tend to forget that these products are coming from JAPAN aka the other side of the world. So when something Isn’t in stock and we have to order, it takes 2-4 weeks to arrive here to our doorstep. Balistic said that the tracking number was messed up, wrong information... the wire transfer to the shipping company was messed up preventing the shipping company to deliver our products. Sorry about the inconvenience and the situation at hand.

Also I understand everyone has been complaining about the phone situation here, we wholesale engines and performance products to over 150+ shops all over the United States & Canada, Mexico and surrounding countries. We are working very diligently to upgrade the phone system here to take on more phone calls. Has anyone ever tried ordering parts from companies such as Options Auto Salon? You can try calling and over and over again its busy or you are on hold for a few minutes. They are just simply swamped, its not that we are screening phone calls or we do not want to help out, we are a newer company here and grew allot faster than we originally anticipated and are very understaffed. We only have 2 lines and its very unprofessional to put someone on hold, so please keep calling, your car will be awnsered or please just leave a detailed message and someone WILL return your call.

Sorry for the long post everyone, we have had some problems here and there,as all businesses do. We have done everything in our power to correct situations when they arrise. There were just some things we thought everyone should know since alot of questions have been raised lately.

Thanks & Stay Tuned!Zerolift Autolab

ok so explain why you would answer the phone when I would have people call with other area codes....

explain why your check bounced

explain why you told alan it was going to be delivered in 3 days with a silvia clip which by coincidence was ordered all the way back in march and was expected much earlier

Sleepin240, this really is something that you need to discuss with Zerolift off of the boards. Zerolift has given reasons to why ppl as a whole have had issues with them... your personal issues with them would probly best be handled off the board.

Dan, Brandon (sleepin) I think is just making a point to show the rest of NICO his side of the story and voice his opinion w/ some harder evidence. If zerolift is here posting, then it can get to be a very informational thread, as long as it doesn't get outa hand. So, stay professional everyone.

yeah, there are always two sides to a story, i still want to go down and meet up with the zero lift crew, kev when ever i get the car back up and running im downwe can roll out , did you get that turbo Z ? should be up and running later this month, and close to 400hp this time, been out to the local meets lately???

and its not like zero lift is that far away why not just order directly from them and go pick it up. i would have wanted to go up meet these guys (like i will soon anyhow) and check out the shop its cars and inventory, i like to meet the people i do thousand dollar deals with. somthing about touching and seeing what im about to pay for when its that kinda cash

Jon-I've gone to a few of the cruise ins. SRD split into 2 rival groups now, as you know; SRD and SRDU- All of my friends belong to SRDU, thoguh, so I hang out with that gang whenever I can. SRD seems mostly older adults. Went to one of their meets and I was BORED.

Edit: I've had the 300ZXT for about a month now. Its an 85, in great shape. You gotta see it in person to appreciate it.

Shibby... for once one of these kinds of threads doesn't need to be locked up tighter than Al Capone.
