Hi, i am just new to the forum please see earlier topic, my Z31 has been running like a dream until 2 weeks ago i got 5 miles into my drive and the engine just cut out, and there was a audible ticking under the bonnet from this part Image it is directly above the coil, i disconnected the battery then reconnected it and the noise went away, she started again and i got her back to my mechanics, the following day i took her for a short drive 4 miles and when i pulled up at my mechanics the same thing happened, it keep on doing it but then stoped cutting out ( i think it was the engine (turbo)cooled down enough for it to stop happening) .
Last weekend thinking it was fixed the same thing happened, i poured cold water over the Airflow, and crake sensor and the one under the coil but it did not fix it. so i sat around until the engine cooled down and the engine started again and i got home before it died again.
I checked the self diagnostic on the ecu and it came up with 14, 23 24 and a 31, i know the a/c is out of gas (31) and the (24) from the auto to manual conversion, i am not sure if the 23 or 14 would cause the engine to cut out ounce the engine got to full temp, and the part in the photo would tick .

I have ordered a new Throttle, crank angle sensor any other suggestion's would be much appreciated
Cheers

I remember those crank sensors as being temperature sensitive. I think you are on the right track.

That looks like some stuff the usdm version didn't have... but if it stumbles and dies after reaching temp, it's likely chts just beside the bypass hose

I think he means Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor.
The terminals on those get corroded a lot too.
