i have a na 300zx and i worpped the heads on it and i dont have money to have it fixed umm i thinking im going to try and fix it myself and with the help of someother friends i was jw how hard it would be i have truck that i had parked that i can drive so times not really a problem its just if im able to do it or not and what i would all need to fix it so if u have any advice anything would be helpfull

Well I'm not a mechanic by any means but I'm pretty sure you cant fix a warped head unless you own a machine shop. I'd let her sit since you have another vehicle until you save up enough cash to get rebuilt heads or get the ones you have cleaned and shaved.

Best is to pull the engine and trans to remove/replace the heads. If you really love the car, I'd make it a project and do everything that it needs while you are so deep into it i.e. clutch, 60 or 100k timing belt, change all the hoses, water bypass, etc...etc...etc...

well see the thing is i dont want to spend alot of money on this car i just want to get it fixed and running and make a lil bit of money off it cus i got the car for 3k i dont feel like spending what i payed for the car on fixing the motorbut then im going to sell the car and the truck i have and save up and hopfully get a TT and it doesnt seem worth spending that much on the N/A motor but this sucks

you can't know the heads are warped till you pull them and have them checked at a machine shop, you might want to keep an eye out for a good used engine, the cost of striping cleaning surfacing and re-assembling the heads plus seals and gaskets plus maybe a valve job adds up quick, my car needed a valve job and one turbo, I figure it's about as cheap to swap in a JDM engine

dont know the heads are worpped but i know the head gask. it blown so i have to take it off anyways to replace that and i had it checked out and the guys said the were most likely blown and the place is pretty cool and would try and **** me over and they know what they are doing with 300zx

the guy at the shop told me the was pretty sure they were worped i had alot of oil in the radiator and he knows the gask. it blown and pretty sure the heads are worpped and the water temp gage wasnt working and it got to hott which was my own falt i would have had it checked out just didnt have time to do it
