so a couple mornings ago i got in my coupe so that i could drive to school. as i was pulling out of the driveway, my windshield starts to fog up. i turned on the defroster and started heading up to my school. on the way there i hit a nice little pothole and out of nowhere, a crack forms all the way across the bottom of my windshield i'd just gotten finished changing my CVT fluid and fixing a broken tire sensor. so im already spent. anyone know how much replacing the windshield should cost me??

Colder outside temperature + heat on inside OR vice versa.

There could have been a small chip or crack in the windshield that went unnoticed. Once the pothole was hit it sent vibrations through the car and the windshield split.

I would take it to the dealer to see though, because if you didn't see a crack and you hit a small pothole... yeah, try it, see what they say.

yep, almost all insurance companies allow for 1 free windshield replacement each year.

Strange...when it hit 6* here for 3 days straight...didnt have any windshield issues. If it were just the cold weather, mcheddadi should have a fully spiderwebbed windshield most of the year.

the crack on the windshield runs along where the air from the defroster comes out. im pretty sure it was the quick temperature change that cracked it

all i'm saying is that it usually takes a weakness or preexisting pit/chip to give the crack a path to go to
