I've had my A/C for a few months.Already have a number of really minor chips in the windshield.

Seems like I can toss a junebug at it, and chip it.Thought about driving in the slow lane, but that ain't gonna happen !!!

But it does make me wonder about the quality of the windshield and where the windows are manufactured, and if they are manufactured to US standards ????

Also the relative height of the hood/windshield doesn't help.

Pretty sure automotive glass, especially the windshield, is heavily regulated for OEMs.

My windshield cracked about a month ago. Im to lazy to go and get it fixed. I was doing about 80 mph and the rock hit. It was a 2 inch spider but now its about 8 inches.

the stealership quoted 375$$$ to fix it.

i bet the windshield in manufactured in the u.s.it wouldnt make much sense to import them,

as for being only 375 to fix a windshield, to be honest that sounds quite cheap,

375 for a "fix", id rather use that money for lowering my car or save it up for new exhaust etc..

especially those who had to fix there windshield soon...

I also have the new 08 Altima coupe. I drove it home from work, parked it and 2 hours later I had a crack going from the passenger side to the driver's side. This was not from a rock hitting it. It went a quarter of the way up from the bottom and almost all the way across. Glass repair guy said its a manufacturer defect. It's a stress crack! Do I hear a recall Nissan????

Dont you people have glass coverage on your new cars?

Windshield cracks, you get a new one. Insurance pays for it.

My insurance is my parents they paid for it. It came to 375. Funny story, i told the stealership that i wanted them to do the work, and not contract it out to montco glass (montgomery county).

What do i see as i am driving away, montco glass working on my car. To top it off they ordered the wrong windshield.

My deductible is 500 so no dice for insurance, Ive talked to a few people and getting it repaired looks like crap and my insurance doesnt cover that anyways.

Dont you guys have glass coverage with no deductible? I think it is mandatory in NY to have on your automobile.

I had my GMC Sierra for 6 years with hardly a nick. 3 months into the Coupe and have a nice little crack. I think it was a moth or maybe small butterfly
