Came with Yokohama YK420s -- three with 50% left and one with 70%.

Nice.

I love those old style bbs rims. Are you going to try to detail them further?

The BBS is ten times better than the piepans. Looks good. Now if you could get rid of the chrome fender things, the Q will be perfect.

Definitely loose the chrome fender trim, it just makes the wheels look even smaller than they are.

Chrome fender trim is VIP-style.

I fully agree, but I worry about the nastiness that might be under there. Has anyone ever removed chrome trim from an old Q? It was installed by the original owner who had the car from 90-92, but its an all-California car so perhaps it isn't so bad...?

Not really. Ancelton, and a very FEW others I've seen show the rare car with a very thin chrome strip. We're talking less than 1% of cars. Now, if Jesda got that chrome painted it would actually then look like flares, but with such tiny wheels, I wouldn't do it. Hey Jesda, I'll sell you my wheels later this year!

I want to keep tire costs down. With each takeoff or each time I throw the tail out, I hear "chaching"

I strangely ( for me) am liking the BBS's. The look good. Definately better than pie pans. Can we get a day time picture-needs better light.

I am a fan of the pie pans and think they look much better than the BBS - though I don't hold it against anyone if they like BBS more. Just that so many are down on the PPs and I don't think it's warrented. If they weren't the OEM/everday wheel I think more would feel otherwise. I think the simple understated elegance goes well with the overall esthetic of the Q.
