I just got tese pictures loaded up onto my computer. I IZ IN UR HOUSE DRIVIN UR SEAT!!!1
So a little back story: Every year during the summer my friend and I have been going to his family's house in New Hampshire (live free or die FTW) because its about the nicest place ever during the summer. His uncle restores old wooden boats, and we got to tour his shop and see the stuff he was working on. These boats were nice. Like, nicer than I could ever hope to afford. Sorry, but I have priorities, and a $600k mahogany race boat from the mid 30s is not one of them.
I believe this boat was theirs, but am not 100% sure. The attention to detail on these things is incredible. I only had my crappy 2MP phone camera, as usual, but a Nikon D100 wouldn['t have done these boats justice.
My friend in front of one serious engine. 1300CID 12cyl Allison making 1400hp WITHOUT the supercharger. It was making something like 2200HP with the supercharger, but it kept ripping itself loose from its motor mounts, and they had to de-tune it so the boat was drivable.
The boat on the left here is the original launch from Sunapee harbor, I believe. Might have been Newbury harbor, but its from 1934 or something, and still runs. Its getting a full restoration as we speak. One hell of a boat, with some real history. Behind me there is a wall of 426 hemis. No joke, it was a sea of awesome. I wanted one sooo bad! He had like, 12, so I couldn't see the harm in parting with ONE.
Uncle's really nice 1986 911 carrera. under 80k original miles. A very nice little car!
And now on to stuff you guys might actually care about. Proof I went and saw Greg!! Here is the totally sick engine in his totally sick car. Ive seen more than a few CA18s in my day, and this was definitely the nicest setup I have seen in person. Hell yeah greg, your car rules!
Then Greg and my friend Robert went for a drive in Robert's 2002 WRX. Robert was like "want to drive it?" and Greg says "wait, what? I can drive it? HELL YEAH!!" Off they went, leaving me to my own devices. Terrible idea guys.
That was a really cool seat man, OMP one piece bucket FTW. I am wearing your shift boot on my head, accentuating my receding hairline like no hat could ever do. To top it off you had a steering wheel nearby, so I could drive your garage around like I freaking stole it!! WEEW!!! In the last pic, you can see the monster engine that he has just waiting to be installed. It was/is one hell of a bada** CA18.
