I shot these on my phone after I pulled into the mall and parked next to a 3 a couple of weeks ago...

Looks like we're a lil bigger...and we definitely get more headroom.

Hey There,Thank you so much for posting your pics.....I was very close to purchasing a Mazda3 s hatch over the Nissan Versa...but I've decided I definitely want the Versa for a number of reasons...including better mileage...less expensive...and look at all that room! -I'd never seen the two cars side by side before....

So thank you for sharing the photo here on the boards-- I think it should help alot of people like me who have been comparison shopping other cars against the mighty Versa!

The 3 and the Matrix ranked ahead of the Versa when I began my car shopping. After two months of research and test drives, the Versa moved to no. 1. I still prefer the looks of the 3 and the cargo capacity of the Matrix but the Versa just was a better overall value. My wife preferred the looks of the Versa to the 3 so that settled that criteria.

We considered and researched the Fit, the Yaris, the Mazda3, the Mazda5, and the Matrix, and ended up choosing the Versa over all of those, mostly for the features and price.

The Mazda's were way to expensive. The Matrix isn't really that nice in person. And the Fit and the Yaris were too expensive when directly compared to the Versa.

I love my Versa, but I did test drive a hatchback 3. The major difference was that the 3 is a lot sportier of a car. That 2.3 engine it's got is very fun to drive.

But yeah, good bit more expensive though. Not massively more, but at that range, a couple more thousand is a lot more.

We ruled out the 3 because getting an infant seat into the back seat was too difficult. And with the child seat in the middle, I couldn't put the driver's seat into a comfortable position for me.

I don't like Mazda's "bait and switch". The 3i has a comparable price to the Versa but the engine sucks (even though it has a higher rated output.) I bet 90% of the people who buy a 3, get the 3s because they're disappointed by the 3i.

From the pics, the 3 has large hips but the interior width isn't there. And the shot from the front show how narrow the cabin is. The Versa is a more efficient space design.

Have you noticed how the Versa has such a happy grin, and the 3 just looks pissed off. And look at the rear end. The Versa, so tight and perky, not spreading out like it's eaten too many potato chips.

I'm trying to see if I can't get the Silver Fit, and Black Mazda 3 lined up next to my Black Versa at work. So far no luck.
