My original set-up with the 9 inch Philips was great at first but after a few weeks the latch could never hold. I had to get some bent wire and a hair clip to keep the darn thing closed. The second one was just a monitor.
Well the Phllips started to skip and not play recently so I had to upgrade my kid's entertainment system.
So I found these 10.1 inch Twin Headrest Dvd's on Ebay, but their from China. Well everything is made from China anyways, so I had no hesitation in buying these. My 10.1 inch rear view monitor still working from China but the 2 of the back up cams I bought stateside has gone bad.
Point is that these DVD players BLOW AWAY the Philips by a mile! The only thing I liked about the Philips is that it turns on when I start the car because of the old school on button. These new ones are touch screen.
But let me start with the 10.1 inch screens have a above average picture. Less pixels and more like the HD version of players BUT THEIR NOT mind you.
The screens do have 1024 x 600 resolution display.
The benefits from my perspective is that you don't have to see the wires because its set up where 1 cord from the back connects to the main wires further down. So if you have seat covers you can hide the wires 100% which is great unlike my original set up.
I have like 2 set of cigarette adaptors in the car, one duel and one 4 socket. I run the players, gps, and portable fans of these. Everything hidden under the bottom compartment.
I have my screens a little higher but usually you have the headrest all the way down and it would look better.
And instead of some loose strap to hold your monitors in place, these use very sturdy plastic brackets. Perfect and never a chance of falling off.
One thing people might not like is you have to insert the DVD's in the back of the monitors, no biggie for myself since I leave a DVD for a couple of weeks to play over and over to keep the children occupied. Moreover, instead of a flimsy latch, you get the push down variety like the dvd player boombox where you press on the top cover to open. Like those! But you need small fingers to get the dvd out by using finger openings near the edge, could be a pain for big fingers!!
Both monitors can play different movies, or games. They also come with a 2 remote controls and 2 wireless headphones with 2 channels of course.
And guess what, inputs galore. You get HDMI inputs, USD, and SD card inputs as well.
The best part is, this only cost my as little as $25 more. I got a great deal last march for just under $189. Their more pricey now I see.
If you want a great DVD set up, check out the portable head rest dvd players from China. Great Electronic stuff!
My kids love the picture display!
One last thing, my particular Ebay Vendor from China took less than a week to arrive and the packaging was SICK as in awesome and TOP NOTCH! It was shrinked wrapped and bubble wrapped to perfection and was kinda hard to get to the item in a way. Like the tootsie pop commercial as a kid, with the owl trying to get to the center or the russian dolls where you open and a little doll appears. I was really impressed with the packaging to say the least! One of the best I've seen and I am seller at times too.
These boxes were not just wrapped like xmas gifts with postage. So kudos to this merchant.

The lines you see in the picture is from the Samsung phone camera creating artifacts, in real life the movie is smooth as butter.

The picture looks bad since the game was moving on the screen I could not pause it. Looks decent in real life for 8 bit games. I know huh! old school.

No wires, see it hidden under the seat cover, I should have pushed it aside more so the flash wouldn't make it so noticible during the flash.
You don't really notice under the black dark part of the covers really.
