I have been reading and trying to figure out on my own but now i need help. What the rig is doing is when i decelerate to slow to a stop and sit at a light the engine wants to die, it will drop to almost 0 rpm then I put my foot on the brake and rev the engine while holding the brake so it doesn't die. I can get it to even out after a few seconds of revving and then it will idle by itself. No problems that i can feel when in motion, only at stops. Sometimes before i take off it drops really low and then chugs forward and catches, then goes fine until it wants to act up again. So far i have taken the IACV off, cleaned and tested it by plugging back in and turning the ignition on and i can see the plunger move. I tested with OHM meter and was 0.00, I cleaned the throttle body, replaced the PCV valve while i had the intake off. I did spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter a couple months ago and has been running fine. The current problem is frustrating because i went to AutoZone and there was 0 codes. Could it be a distributor trying to fail? TPS?
Thanks, i need some ideas or experience with this issue, please. I try to help as much as possible on the forum and now i guess it's my time...crap!

Mass Air Flow sensor is acting up. You see the same behavior when you put an open blow off valve on a MAF equipped car, it goes crazy and stumbles like that. It's probably dirty inside or the connector is loose or dirty. Clean it and reset the computer.

Thank you, I will go buy some MAF cleaner tomorrow.
I did pull the maf a couple days ago to look at it and the little "wires" where both grayish in color.
AND check the ground on it too.

Update...I went and bought some electrical contact cleaner and sprayed the MAF sensor, It started up and chugged while running rich and barely idling, i got to the auto parts store and the check engine light came on, bought new MAF sensor for $180 bucks and she runs great, except the engine light is still on. Thanks for the advice!. :bigthumb:

You should be able to clear the codes and hopefully it won't return. If it does, pull the code(s) and post them here.

Thanks...I disconnected both battery terminals for a bit then reconnected and no more light. Now dealing with a bad Alternator.
I bought a new battery and drove around fine for a few days, then last night the ABS and another dash warning lights where flashing and the radio kept cutting off and on. Got her home barely and wouldn't fire up, battery was drained. Replacing the Alternator this morning.

How do you reset the computer?

You need an OBD II scan tool. If that's not an option, disconnecting the battery long enough (30 minutes should be enough) should clear the codes too. I use the Autel MaxiScan MS300 on my 01 QX4 and found it works on an 06 Camry as well. Once you scan, there's a "clear codes" option.
