my trunk is leaking(pics inside)

yes my trunk is leaking after every storm we get in florida. i get a swimming pool in the place where my spare is.well it happen to me again today.so when i got home from school i took everything and vaccum up the water.then i got my dad to run water over my hatchback with me inthe backseat.well i found out where the water is coming from.it seems that there is a hole or something by or in the right side brake light.please help me i would've used the mailing list at 240sx.org but it seem it not active any more.so i asking you guys to help! also is this problem common.has anybody had this happen to them?

Wow, my trunk leaks during really heavy rain but I can't find it for the life of me. Maybe I'll check it out. Although mine doesn't leak nearly that much. I suspect mine is leaking from the bottom somewhere beacuase it only gets water into it when I'm driving. This is bad seeing as I live in Seattle.

Yes, very common problem! The rubber like seals are worn out, just go to the auto store and purchase Im not sure what its called but you use it to replace your winshield. Its a thick black bead you can buy to put around your taillights. Or better yet just go to the auto store and just ask about the winshield surround you would use to replace it. It comes in a roll, dosent dry up and very flexible, sorta like alredy chewed gum. Hope this helps!

or try some silicone.....if the hole isnt that big.....that might seal it.

thanks guys.......could ya'll tell me how many screws there are that is holding the taillight in?my dad was thinking of taking the right one out and using the "chewing gum" rubber to seal the leak.
