So after a full week back I finally got around to have some time to sit down at the computer.

I recently started working for Liberty Mutual and I was sent to Phoenix for two weeks.
My first impression of Phoenix was "DAMN!!! The flight attendant cordially announced the temperature outside of the airport at 112... The company put us up in the Residence Inn in Phoenix, about 5 minutes from the airport.

Image

Right across the street I found a large Asian market which had the absolutely lowest price cuts of meat, poultry and fish I have ever seen. (Kinda made me wonder if it was real cow or some raccoon roaming across the street...)

Image

Image
These were disgusting btw...

Soon after being in Phoenix for a couple of days I got in touch with Greg and Becky and they offered to let me borrow a car for the time I was in Arizona so I would have a way to get around and really enjoy my trip.
I honestly will never be able to thank you guys enough. I don't care how many times you tell me to stop, I am going to keep thanking you guys :dblthumb:
So Greg and Becky drove 40 minutes out of their way to come and bring me the most memorable car I have ever driven

No amount of pictures can prepare you for the awesomeness that the Nico Cube really is...

First off was a quick visit to Tempe, AZ. College town home of ASU, this was very much a college town. Nothing but bars and eating places. I snapped a few pictures. :)

Next day I took a little trip to Scottsdale. Gorgeous town. I loved the whole Wild West thing and ended up buying a cowboy hat just to ride the mechanical bull :inout:

There is also a nice little speedshop outside of Scottsdale and one of the owners has a kickass NSX. We chatted for a bit, handed him a Nico card and proceeded to take a few pics :mike

Next up is my trip to Sedona

So I started driving to Sedona and was confronted with rain half of the way there... I thought it wasn't supposed to rain in AZ.....

Great pics

If ever I make it to AZ I want to go to Winslow and stand on a corner...........

Knowing my luck, the girl in a flat bed Ford would never drive by.

Cube is awesome! Def not the fastest car I've ever driven, and the CVT takes some time getting used to.. But a fun car nonetheless. There were at least 3 people behind me every time I was taking a picture of the Cube doing the same lol

It actually belongs to a very wealthy Romanian who owns a huge medical supply company here in AZ. The morning of our wedding, Greg and I went to Chapel of the Cross, which is right across the street from this house. We were standing out front taking a few pictures of it when the owner's father stepped out onto the upstairs balcony and invited us inside for a tour. The inside of the building is so opulent and overdone, part of it is hard to look at. Over 50% of the house is pink, whether it is the marble floors, the marble walls, the staircase, the paintings, the balconies. It's ev-e-ry-where. The coolest parts were the indoor swimming pool and Koi pond, and the McLaren in the garage. The father was an incredibly interesting man and I will always appreciate his generosity for the tour. It was a one-of-a-kind experience, that's for sure.

<----- going to find the link to the interior pictures *edit* - here it is: http://s304.photobucket.com/albums/nn16 ... a/?start=0

P.S. Nicolas Cage has a house you can see from the chapel. Apparently several celebrities have vacation homes here.

Thanks again Becky!! Couldn't have done any of this without your generosity. You guys are incredible :dblthumb:

Glad you were able to get out and see something besides the city. There are a lot of beautiful things to see out here, it's not just a hot desolate desert.

I still can't believe that your company sent you out here with no transportation. This city is way too spread out and the public transportation is either too scarce or too expensive. You have to have wheels to be able to enjoy it.

That's 19 miles North of Orlando. You should be able to see some cool stuff while you are there. Of course with the humidity, it will seem hotter than it did here in AZ. :chuckle:

Sweet trip dude. Seems like you saw the good parts of Phoenix. And there were clouds out! You're lucky, it's usually sunny all day every day.

Sedona is a cool place too. The red rocks are something else, aren't they?

And the ROFLBOX is the coolest Cube around!

Nice Pictures you did a great job. My Grandmother lives in Sun City AZ. I just like looking at the Mountains from her backyard view in the Mornings when the sun rises. I need to look at Scottsdale Az. the next time I go this year.

Thanks Manuel - I'm just glad you got to see more of the state. AZ is seriously awesome. I could move anywhere in the US tomorrow - I choose to stay right here. :)

Glad you had a good time, and I'm stoked that we were able to meet up with you finally.
