My trial at making a cowl hood **PICS**

These pics are not the greatest, my digi cam sucks, but you get the picture.

I think it's too high right now, I need to get some shorter spacers.

I used 1/4 inch NPT pipe, 1 1/2 inch long, with 8mm x 1.25mm x 50mm bolts with 8mm lock washer.

Here are the pics, I think I need it like half inch shorter, I didn't go driving around with it yet but I will try that in a bit!

Unfortunatly, I don't have a thermometer that I can use.

you should paint your body panels lol and get some G20 alloy rims.

Lower it and get some new pics. Not a bad idea for track day or summer.

I was trying something out as per this discussion, if you know how to read, you will see that this actually helps. Sure I misjudged my size, but you get the Idea. It's called TRIAL AND ERROR. :rolleyes http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....22078

Also, I just got those doors off another 240, I swaped the interior, it had GHETTO potato sack material, and now I have the nice interior, and those doors have power windows, It is getting painted.

The rims are winter rims, and I just got the car, the first thing on my mind is not to lower it!

Her CF hood and JDM fogs will be in this week.

Hey, enough with the name calling. This isn't the 9th grade. Jay, you do open yourself up to opinions when you post pics. Structure was offering his, but he did not flame you or call you names.

Sometimes form follows function and you are experimenting trying to find a better function. For that I'll give you props, but you may need a little thicker skin when opening yourself up to other members' opinions.

yea im sorry man i wasnt bashing the entire car. i didnt say anything about the paint or wheels. hell my car right now is on jack stands with no suspension no exhuast from the head back lil bit of bondo and a spoiler that needs to be painted

I was just saying something in reply to what you said, I mean, saying that it looks dumb doesn't help me at all.

SAying it is too high, or saying that even if it helps cool the engine, it's not worth doing since it doesn't look right, then I can take that as a comment and work with it!

so jay? does it work.. if u were to see my car.. u wouldnt really think twice.. my car has the factory paint job from 89.. rust around the windshield.. and big pieces of cream colored bondo on it.. 17" wit 40-205's in the back and stock hubs in the front.. and no a/c.. so my hood bent up a lil like that wouldnt make me look any worse.. lemme know the results jay..joe

yeah way too high.. i would rase it up in the center and lower in teh sides (bend the hood, go to the junk yard and get another hood, so if u ever have to sell the car.. u can just slap the new one on...)
