My transmission???

My transmission??
I have a s14 I recently got with 5spd KA. First problem; nothing to erking is in order to get to first without a grind, I have to row into second then up to first.

When I first drove the car a bit, third gear wasn't such a big problem and it seemed to get worse n worse as far as grinding into third.

To make a long story short, there was a time I cud barely get into third wo grinding alot. So one day I was driving; before going into third from second, I would go into neutral, back in to second, and then third no problem. I did this about 4 times and then tried to go directly into third, and now it falls right in for the rest of the drive and another drive later on that day with no grinding even if I tried. Drove it the next day from being parked overnight shifted vigourously and still no grinding to 3rd.

I was told the synchros are goin in and out of line. Any other ideas??

More then one gear, and first being on........ Chances are you could have a clutch master/damper slave issue. I'd ger a new slave and CMC, bypass the damper, and drain the trains and fill with 3/4 quart of syncromesh and GL4---- I repeat GL4 75W90 gear oil.

four drives later of vigourous shifting, i get nothing, no grinding. I did intend on amsoil. If i change the fluid, will that introduce the shavings back into the gears?

GL4 is important, and syncromesh will help the syncros. It cant hurt.

what kind of synchromesh? all i see is pennzoil.

They only make 2 kinda and one is GM the other is Pennzoil and they are both the same (its a pennzoil product)
