While doing my swap I had to change my KA bellhousing to an SR bell housing so the bolt pattern would match up. While doing this when the transmission was apart my friend was shifting the gears manually on the gear cluster. I didn't think anything of it but now.... When I have my swap allmost complete I am installing the shifter back in to the car and (I don't have the shifter all in and everything) but when I have it in w/out the clips to hold it it feels like the transmission is really stiff and I can't change gears or anything. The car does role so I am assuming it is in nutral. Also the shift lever is straight up and down like it would be if it was in nuetral. Also the transmission has no fluid in it at the moment. If some one could help me PLEASE DO! Thanks, Graham:mad:

You sure that the end of the shifter is in the rails? And If you had the internals apart are you sure that they went back together correctly?

Redline MT90 works awsome for me. It actually smoothed up my shifting. Makes it easier to get into gear.

GM SynchromeshBG Synchroshift

Both are pretty popular for use in DSM trannies.

Is anyone using the GM/Penzoil Synchroshift with good results in their 240 transmission?

I use Redline Heavyduty Shockproof but just recently I heard it's bad for your synchros. It works really well and helps you get into gear better.

I've also heard good things about GM synchromesh. If I didn't get Redline Shockproof Iwould go with GM synchromesh.

And GM stands for General Motors, so you could pick it up at any GM car dealer.

I only use the shockproof in the transfer case and diff in my galant. Penzoil actually make the GM Syncromesh. I bought Penzoil Synchromesh from AutoZone for about $5 a quart.

I was going to use the Mobil 1 but read that it's GL5 and not good for the synchros.
