hey guys i recently discovered that once i kick it in 4wd HI and drive off for a short distance i hear this horrible grinding sound coming from under the driver seat..transfer case i guess and it jerks as if i was driving on a rocky surface...if it put it in AUTO the sound is there but no sudden jerky motion...the sound reminds me of my windstar when the alternator needed a lube job i also realized its gets much worse when im in reverse as it just stops and wont even back up unless i rev it hardonce i put it back in 2wd the truck tilts slightly higher kinda like its recoveredfrom a negative camber....impressed the crap out some bystanders but not me

im throwing it off at the dealer tomorrow but curious to see if anyone had similar problems...im suspecting its the transfer case fluid

Occasionally my truck won't "go" when I put it in 4wd. It will rev REALLY high and barely move. I put it back in 2 and then back in 4 and it usually works, but I rarely use my 4wd so I've never had it looked at. I do seem to hear more noise from under the truck when driving (even in 2) than from other 4x4s I've owned.

yeah im cool with 2WD unless i absolutly got to...my parking lot is icy right now and with my horrible geolander tires i cant make it unless its in 4wd hii've seen many other fwd drives drive off like its nothing

i'm suspecting it could be something with the shafts possibly as wellsince it won't go....i feel like doing it my way and drive the living crap out of it for a day or two

yeah, my 01 QX4 does the same thing too. I have it on AUTO most of the time. If someone know what causing this, please post it up
