My transmission issue 2001 pathy 4wd

Hey guys,since the temperature dropped tuesday here in toronto,im having an annoying issue with my transmission...when im driving in 2-3rd gearand let off the throttle to coast...it creates a nasty engine braking effect so i get back on throttle right away...i can't even keep it rolling to the light.I also noticed once i go wide open throttle on 2 or 3rd gear,it doesnt downshift it simply holds the gear until it reached 4000rpm or 10 seconds later then out the blue BAM! downshifts harshly.Its quite annoying driving downtown now since i cant get it to go away

I checked my transmission fluid and its in good condition....i got my mechanic to take a quick look it after i explained everything he told me there is something definitly wrong with the transmission

anyone else having the same problems?

i happend again this morning so i went all stupid and kept flooring for a few lights and it goes back to normal

DOes it only do this when your engine is cold? And once it warms up it acts normal? Cause my truck definately acts weird when its cold, clutch is a little weird, when i get on the throttle and barely let off it feels like it slows down emensly, but thats been like that since day one. Once it warms up everything is normal for me.

I suggest starting up your vehicle and letting it run for 5-10 minutes before driving in the winter, because a lot of damage can happen driving it while its cold.

yea i always take time to let it warm up...but it even occurs half another into driving...i live downtown so im not sure if the slow driving has an effect

hey guys today my O/D light started flashing each time i startedand blinked for about 5 seconds and back to normali don't know where i placed the owners manualdoes anyone know what it means?
