As of yesterday, my car started acting up. Its an 01 Pathfinder/Qx4 2wd auto with the Vq35de motor

I already had code P0335 (crank position sensor) and I had just removed/cleaned it and orderred that sensor locally. But yesterday, I noticed my car wasnt shifting properly, on regular aceleration the car will shift into second smooth, but as soon as it goes to shift into 3rd..... transmission slips like a motha, revs up like crazy, sometimes shifts, sometimes the rpms just stay @ around 3k and that becomes its cruising rpm.... its like no power is getting to the transmission/wheels.

When cruising maintaining the speed limit, it stays @ 3k and when you push the gas the rpms rise but the car BARELY accelerates.

I checked the transmission fluid level in the dark, and it seemed fine, but Ill confirm in the morning when its cold and on level surface.

So I put the scanner on it. P0774 Shift Solenoid E Intermittent

I have the FSM, but cannot find it anywhere in the damn thing. Can anyone point it out to me. Basically I have no idea whats going on here, and I think I may have to borrow my parents car to get to work tomorrow since I work 40 minutes away and give them cab money since there local....

I made a video of the problem and its uploading onto you tube right now, shows the problem much better than I can explain, heres the youtube vid, processing or some bs, Ill try imageshack

Any help appreciated

btw, when in the vid I say Im sticking it into overdrive and say it does nothing, thats just my foot moving the throttle,it did nothing, overdrive usually make the car downshift... but obviously, it did not

sounds to me like that solenoid "E" needs to be replaced. that would be the overdrive solenoid i think. not too positive on nissan transmission's, i built dodge for 3 years though

That would cause a transmission to drive like this? Its horrible?

Anyone else have an opinion. If this is a DIY job or has to be taken to a shop, or if there is anything i can do.

you may want to get your local dealer to give you a print out of the location of the solenoid.

depending on where it is on the valve body, you may need to drop it down to access the solenoid. If you've never had any experience with pulling a valve body before, i'd recommend getting someone to help you that has.

Or just take it to a transmission shop...
