All right guys i sent a email to falken about my recommended tire pressure and received this reply what do you think?

The recommened weight the tires hold in all is 5908 and these new ones can hold 5424.

Mr. Roberts:

The original equipment size for your vehicle is P215/60R16 94 Load Index, at 32 PSI front/rear. That pressure indicates a design dynamic tire load of 1,411 lbs each.

The 225/45R18 is a 91 Load Index, which carries a maximum load of 1,356 lbs at 36 PSI. Your current tires are therefore underrated for the design load required by Nissan, and should not have been recommended by your dealer.

We recommend that you have the tires replaced with a P235/45R18 94 (Reinforced) and operate at 38 PSI (the higher PSI is needed for the reinforced spec).

Unfortunately, Falken does not make that size, so you will have to go to another brand.

First I wanted to say that discount tire doesnt even offer 235/45 as a tire size that would even match the coupe. This rep is talking about a 50 pd discrepancy on each tire, I hardly find that to be a poor fit. Many people on this forum have ordered a 225/45/18 tire for their coupes.

And for this max load thing, it sounds like they are saying your falken can withstand 5400 pds total of weight. The 2.5 CVT curb weight is 3100, you have a few thousand to spare on the difference here.

I could be completely talking out of my @$$ but it made sense when I rationalized it to myself

Dude, don't worry about the load index of an 18 inch tire on an altima coupe. Your fine with your falken tire

However if you feel like changing take a look at these when your speedo reads 60 mph your actually traveling at 59.2 mph with this size http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...2&y=2

also if you are looking to go for a wider tire take a look at these http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...t=All all of these tires will keep your speedo correct.
