I'm done guys this forum has helped me over the last 15 years i have had my 2003 m45 .

it recently blue cylinder3 and has no compression i am not fixing it or dumping anymore money into it as i live in massachusetts and i commute to boston for work over a hour a day and the winters here are rough. so its so hard to say and do but I'm parting ways with my 1st and only car this week and will be going more efficient and more reliable car for me i would just like to wish everyone here the best of luck with your m45s cherish them if u have the room for it. i will truly miss owning and drive and all the fun times i had in this beast!

135k miles original everything will be going for a trade in and probably only getting 2k for it. haha what a joke. don't have the room to store it.

So you've had the car since new/ near new? Anyway, I hope you squeezed as much enjoyment out of it as you could. I hope as you get something more efficient, it matches the feeling and refinement of the y34.

I wish you the utmost best. Farewell, forum brother.

Glad you're moving on to something new kp1. But I do disagree with you that your membership here should lapse on that account. You have benefited from the forum for 15 years. I think we still could use with your experience. I truly will be sorry if szh were to leave simply because he's got himself a new BMW.

FWIW, I am heading towards a similar situation like yours to deal with.

I bought my 2003 M45 brand-new in September of 2003 and now have just over 205,500 miles on it. Things continue to go slowly wrong with the car (last was a thermostat that died) and it still needs some repairs (manifold leak, broken driver seat, etc.) that I just don't feel like doing ... the total cost would be more than the value of the car at this point!

So ... I plan to just drive it till it falls apart in time and I have to replace with something else!

I will miss it ... the absolutely unique looks (instantly recognizable on the road), torque and grunt power (when it is working well), internal comfort (although a bit cramped compared to newer cars), sound of the engine, effortless acceleration (way smoother than any six-cylinder can provide), will be impossibly tough to match today for what I paid for the car back then ($40k total ... taxes and all).

Thanks! I plan to continue here as much as possible even if I leave the Infiniti family ...

FWIW, I am considering going back to a two-seater. I have owned them in the past (1978 Mazda RX-7, 1986 Nissan 300ZX Turbo) and am thinking that a Nissan 370Z or Mazda Miata might be interesting to get back into when my current 2003 M45 falls apart!

Also, the only BMW I might consider is an i8 ... none of the rest of their current line-up particularly interests me. :)

True! I tend to keep my cars for long times though, so not too worried about resale.
