My thoughts on my XTD ebay clutch that I am replacing.

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Ill keep this short and sweet. I am NOT sure how much power my car was putting down when using this clutch. After upping the boost its definitely over 300 at the wheels.

XTD clutch worked fine, but did not seem to like heat and drag style launches (repeated ones at least).

Biggest complaint was the t/o bearing that has now gone bad after about 12k miles.

As a disclaimer, I had some issues when I first finished my swap with clutch engagement that could have possibly reduced the gripping power by glazing the disk or clutch.

Just thought I would post my .02 cents while still being reasonable/objective.

Moral of the story, buy a clutch that will support your power goals. Replacing these things suck.

the old xtd clutches (when first introduced) were HELLA good clutch kits, they used exedy high pressure plates and the 6 puck sprung hub disc...needless to say it held nearly 400whp on my car for a bit there till i tore the motor down after the 'incdent'.the new ones however are trash, they switched pressure plate manufactures and the new plates are substandard in terms of performance.

XTD clutches are TRASH.They use Chinese/Taiwanese/Mexican garbage.

I've seen Pressure plates warp under stock driving situations (not abused & properly broken in).

I've HEARD (not sure if this is true)Through the industry that they use thinner pressure rings to lighten their clutches.

This Maybe why the PP's warp.....

Hey Sil240, First off there is nothing wrong with XTD clutches I have used them my self. Second of please read forums rules.

4) Don't bust on what folks are selling unless you know/suspect an actual scam. It's not fair for a seller to get his stuff denigrated in front of buyers.

My XTD clutch is about two years old now. Its not new by any means and did hold up pretty well.

Ill be curious to see its condition when removed. If anything interesting ill post.
