After one week of driving on them I must say I think they improve the ride quality quite a bit. The truck doesn't float within the lane or dive when braking anymore. Thinking that monotube shocks would roughen the ride I have found the opposite to be true. The ride is firm yet forgiving. Highway driving is comfortable and soft but if you bite into a turn the truck digs in and holds its line with good command.

I went with the KYB Gas-A-Just Monotube Option 1 from Carquest. They are silver tubes with all the needed hardware included. Installation is very easy and shouldn't pose any problems. Should the old shocks want to turn while trying to loosen the upper mounting nuts just clamp them with a pair of Vise Grips. Ratcheting wrenches are worth 10 times their weight in gold for removing the upper mounting nut.

Combined with most front bushing replaced with poly I say the truck handles better than a lot of cars going down the road. I didn't realize exactly how worn out my bushings were until I had them off the truck. Flatter than pancakes and they didn't taste near as good either.

I'll do a follow up in a couple of months, once the front end is broken in. We'll see how good this amazing handling actually lasts.

Great, I did my leaf spring bushings with energy suspension urethane and need to do front end and shocks. I looked at the KYB shocks, sounds like they are the ones I need. Thanks for the info and ride opinion. Always good to hear from someone who has a part just to be sure it is what we are looking for.
