The VG30DE can handle up to a 75 wet shot of nitrous...ive seen a 300zx NA w/little mods that had 125shot#1 Sailor Scout wrote:This is a temporary plan for when & if I get a J30. Let me know what you guys think. I'm open to any suggestions.

Don't know that much yet. But I'll be looking.naladude911 wrote:if you find some lowering springs, tell us, and we will call you a J30 God. (If you make them yourself, make a DYI ASAP)
It's EBay.naladude911 wrote:btw, i noticed ur saving for a J30. You can get one off eaby for like $3000. BTW, how did you put so many miles on a civic so soon?

Good point, but I'm not looking for crazy power. Just something in the 300-350 HP range.Leuthesius wrote:I would suggest that if you're going to be building a sleeper to go with twin turbos/supers, high performance plugs, new Cops, and a double injection system connected to a secondary fuel tank in the trunk with higher octane gasoline, say.. racing fuel.
Second, remove the battery and build in a second aftermarket box with a second k&n cone filter. Place battery in enclosure in the trunk, double insulated to protect against a spark that blows the gas tank up and kills you.
Get a stiffer suspension for racing/cornering (if that's even possible).
Also, find a 6 spd manual transmission that'll fit to the engine.
oh, and switch out the rear differential with something that will actually let you go zoomiezoom.

& just to clarify a few things...I have close to enough for a J. I just need somewhere to put it. I can't leave it @ my uncle's all the time, & since I live with my parents still, there's no room for anymore cars in our driveway. When I get my apartment & get my bills straight, then I'll get the J, b/c by then, I'll have somewhere to keep it.naladude911 wrote:btw, i noticed ur saving for a J30. you can get 300-350 hp @ the crank naturally aspirated...if youre looking for that power @ the wheels youll have to do the TT swap....i have a custom box w/two tens in the trunk with the amp mounted to it and theres still room if i wanted to relocate the battery back there....if you wanted to spend $$$ you could get a custom box...relocate the amp to the spare tire well...and go from there....#1 Sailor Scout wrote:

Like I said, it's going to be mainly for VIP. I'll just have the bare necessities to smack these ricers in drag racing. Also, since we're getting an auto-x track in 2010ish, I may not need that nitrous.
So if I'm going to put a custom box for my battery & stuff in my trunk, where will I put the subs & amps?
I still want to see proof that you can make 85 - 135 MORE hp than stock with those mods.kbflip02 wrote:

in order to get that much power naturally aspirated youll need1-intake2-exhaust3-headers(custom b/c the steering column is in the way for stillen on anything else)4-ecu tune Z1 or jim wolf5-cams6-pulleys7-injectors(stock TT are 370cc)8-fuel pump(walbro 255)i have an aeromotive tsunami but thats just over kill9-adjustable fuel regulator(nismo or aeromotive)10-port and polish the heads and port match the intakes11-maybe a valve body job on your transmission if you plan on dragging it
and you might want to invest in an electric fan....if you do happen to run short on power an alternator from a 96 maxima will fit....it puts out 125 amps where as the stock one on the J only puts out 90 amps...you just have to fabricate a bracket which was suprisingly easy and i suck @ fabrication
i havent dyno'd my car yet but i still need to do the port and polish, headers, adj fuel reg, and i need some transmission work....i was also told that a custom aluminum driveshaft wouldnt hurt either....but thats overkill too...ive heard from many different sources that a stock VG30DE would be able to handle a 75 continuous wet shot but im not balsy enough to try it....hopefully this helps clarify a few things for you-K

dont worry bro im gonna get on a dyno as soon as i get a chance i just havent been able to since my wife is prego and im always on the run for cravings and such...hopefully soongr8scott72 wrote:

Cars are different from one to another and so are dynos. To guess what the before was and then show the after isn't very accurate.yodawill2000 wrote:Not to argue Le'Scott but we kinda know what the J is stock.
Its da' Afta' the Matta' .
hehe
no i should have though...its alright though....i just found out today from my friend who works for lamborghini that theyll dyno my car for $80 for 5 passesgr8scott72 wrote:

You didn't get a before dyno so you don't have anything to compare it to. Or did you?
LOL no thats just condensation...i need to reseal the housingsnaladude911 wrote:Did you darken your headlights KB?
So do I, because I only plan on installing nitrous as a last resort. I've heard too many horror stories about it.gr8scott72 wrote:
