yep, normal temperature should show at about the half way mark. Even in the middle of a arizona summer it doesn't go past half...

even then it should be fine unless you got rid of your fan shroud and are only using the small AC fan...

for your sake i hope u meant half of the halfway mark. Meaning the needle stays at 1/4th of the way because halfway between hot and cold is operating temp.

IMO 240's don't really have a temp "gauge" its more like a 3 position switch.

Over HeatingIn betweenOff

I'm looking for something a little more accurate for mine.

The problem is in the reader (needle), not the sensor. This has been documented before.

Mine goes down when I give it gas. Some call it an electrical issue, I call it magic.

I fully agree. I have a summit gauge that I'm waiting to install. It wasn't badly priced and I heard pretty good reviews.

the stri gauge that one of our advertisers are selling is great! i have it, and i love it! the only thing i dont like about it, is the fact that the display glass scratches easily.

Mine always sits a little below half way. You seem to be ok. If you start to run into a probem try replacing the radiator cap and then the thermostat.

I realize this is an old topic but whatever.

My gauge is ****ed. I never see it rise past 1/4. Sometimes it's even at like 1/8. A few days ago I think it got up to like 3/8 but that's the highest I've seen it for a long time. I'm pretty sure I remember it being halfway not too long ago, but I don't know what happened.

Even when I go all out for a while it doesn't change.

On a related note once I was driving on the highway at 120 km (70 MPH I believe) at 3000 RPM which is where it always is at that speed (5th gear) and I just saw it slowly drop and it went down to like 2000 or 1500 and it was still working but it wasn't working properly (stating less RPMs than in actuality since the car didn't sound or feel any different at all). I tried downshifting and going back up to see if it would fix itself but it didn't. A few minutes later it returned to normal though. That only happened once and I usually look at my RPM on the highway since it's like always at 3000 in 5th at 120 which is kinda cool to see I guess, so I know it doesn't happen regularly or anything, but it was still weird -- I was staring right at it when it dropped out of nowhere and was like "what the ****?".
