I've had my 1991 240sx fastback for over a month now and it was running fine. Today, when i went to the gym, I turned off my car engine and got out of the car. Then a guy in the parking lot noticed that my stop/tail lights were ON as if I was stepping on the brakes. However EVERYTHING is off. The headlights are off, parking brake is off, everything. The only thing that will turn them off is disconecting the battery. can anyone pleaaaaaase tell me how I can fix this? I'm broke as hell right now and can't afford taking my car to the shop. ANY help will be greatly appreciated.Thanx

Same thing happened to me...its most likely the little rubber stopper that goes under the brake pedal....its like 50 cents or sumthin from nissan.....I sprayed some gunk under my pedals a long time ago to stop my clutch pedal from squeeking and I guess it desinigrated the rubber stopper....i kept finding little rubber pieces on my floorboard till one day my brake lights were stuck on non-stop....check that & see if yours is broke/missing....its an easy fix (or should be)

if you're really cheap, you can duct tape a penny to your brake pedal and readjust the brake light switch to make up for the difference in height between a penny and the rubber stopper thats missing
